Trust, safety, and account controls

The first priority is giving people clearer control over their account, data, relationships, invitations, and interactions with event providers.

• Account-data export and a plain-language privacy center.
• A single account security and status center for verification, sign-in methods, password actions, and account recovery or deletion state.
• Stronger abuse protection, safety reporting, moderation, blocking, hiding, contact, and archive controls.
• Clear invitation expiry, revocation, and recipient controls, with age-aware safeguards where they are justified.
• More transparent provider verification, ownership transfer, event reclamation, and safe provider account closure.

Better event discovery and management

We plan to make it easier for dancers to find suitable events and for providers to keep accurate event information up to date.

• Richer provider calendar creation, editing, archiving, and default-calendar controls.
• Progressive event authoring with better validation, previews, recurrence choices, and media galleries.
• More useful discovery filters based on trustworthy event data, dance preferences, location, and accessibility needs.
• Optional event translation that clearly identifies translated content and preserves the original.
• Friend profiles, shared activity, and attendance signals only when the audience and privacy rules are explicit.
• Detailed notification preferences, device management, and a consistent cross-device notification inbox.

Chat, Join Me, and direct feedback

We want to make it easier for dancers to coordinate, communicate, and share useful feedback without turning every interaction into a public social feed.

• One-to-one chat and event conversations with message requests, blocking, reporting, muting, and clear audience controls.
• “Join Me” invitations that let selected friends coordinate around an event without publishing attendance more widely.
• Direct feedback from dancers to event providers, with clear recipient, identity, moderation, and follow-up expectations.
• Conversation and feedback notification settings that respect quiet time and allow people to leave or close an interaction.

Participation and provider tools

Later work will help people attend together and help trusted providers operate events without losing control of access or membership.

• Public, private, and approval-based event access policies with membership moderation.
• Private invitation modes and recipient groups with clear consent and delivery controls.
• Provider announcements and participation campaigns with audience and frequency controls.
• A provider dashboard with useful operational information and privacy-safe performance summaries.
• Provider teams with scoped roles, least-privilege permissions, and owner approval for sensitive actions.

Longer-term ideas

Broader event feeds, communities, large group spaces, and optional participation rewards remain longer-term ideas. They need stronger privacy, reporting, moderation, audience, and reliability foundations before they can become release work.

These ideas will move forward only when research shows that they make Dancing Bee more useful without encouraging spam, unsafe contact, or engagement for its own sake.

What is not planned

The current plan does not include advertising, selling personal data, cross-app tracking, in-app purchases, ticket checkout, or payment-provider integration.

If that direction ever changes, it would require a separate product decision and updated privacy, legal, accessibility, store, security, and support review before implementation.
